1.0 out of 5 stars Damaging if not Deadly, November 6, 2010
This review is from: Sentry PurrScriptions Plus Flea and Tick Squeeze-On for Cats and Kittens 5-Pound and Over (Misc.)
I purchased this for my cat who went outside once a day. He was bringing ticks back home and I thought it was important to treat him. I have had success treating the dogs with Frontline and frankly, I figured that if these chemicals were allowed on the market, theFDA would have deemed them safe. I didn't think I needed to do my own research on the use of common pet treatments for common problems. I thought the lower price versus Frontline would result in lower effectiveness, not higher toxicity. I was very wrong.

After putting this product on my cat of about 14 pounds, he began to stop coming for dinner. Although odd that he didn't come barging into the kitchen upon hearing a can food opening, I dismissed it. I also dismissed that he was lethargic. I thought the clumps of hair coming out were from the tick bites as he was getting at least one a day.

A few days later I found my cat salivating, barely alive with severe neurological damage. The vet had... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars This item killed our cat, October 3, 2011
This review is from: Sentry PurrScriptions Plus Flea and Tick Squeeze-On for Cats and Kittens 5-Pound and Over (Misc.)
Our three cats had a minor flea problem. They are inside cats, they had not had fleas since they were tiny. They did have flea collars, but they had expired without us knowing. We called PetSmart to see what else we could do aside from cat collars to deal with the problem. PetSmart told us to bathe them and de-flea them. We had de-flead a homeless cat before with Frontline. We went to the store to look for Frontline, had none, so they said the other stuff would be fine. So we picked up the Sentry Purrscription Flea for Cats and Kittens. We came home and applied it to our three cats, who are 13, 7, and 4. These are well cared for cats, who regularly get their immunizations, and who are all neutered and spayed. We applied it to the 13 year old first, and decided to watch him closely because he was older, and it said on the box that older cats can sometimes have a slight adverse reaction.

Several hours later, my oldest cat, Buttons started having difficulty breathing. Per the... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars was bad...pert shampoo actually worked, April 9, 2011
This review is from: Sentry PurrScriptions Plus Flea and Tick Squeeze-On for Cats and Kittens 5-Pound and Over (Misc.)
If you can't afford the frontline, revolution or advantage (i use revolution) I suggest instead of buying some cheaper flea product you take the time to bathe your pet in pert shampoo...yep pert shampoo... try to use the one with less chemicals... i usually use normal... It is a pain but it will kill all fleas on your pets....Since fleas can live for a year with out a host, I suggest that you spray everything down with HomeDefense max (i get the one with a trigger from walmarts for less than 10$ for a gallon (lasts up to 9 months if you spray everything good) I have one cat who drools execivesly when i use anything besides revolution, and it seems to work the best and reasonably priced at around 45-50$ per month with 4 cats. when i can not afford it i bathe them in pert plus shampoo (the shampoo and conditioner works too but i like the reg shampoo) Fleas die instantly!
