1.0 out of 5 stars Never, Never, Never use Hartz Flea Products!! Deadly!, July 15, 2009
This review is from: Hartz UltraGuard Plus Flea & Tick Drops for Dogs & Puppies (Misc.)
I did not realize all the problems associated with Hartz flea products. Do your research! My son's dog almost died from the insecticide they use in their products. There are many posts on the internet, so please take a look. I only gave it one star, because I'm not allowed to use a "no star" rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked well, great price., March 16, 2012
There were a lot of crazy reviews about this product, most written around 2006 or 2007. I've used this on our dog for years, with no side effects.

I haven't found a flea or tick since I started using this. I couldn't say the same for the Advantage Multi she was on before. (The regular advantage seemed to work quite well too, but it also expensive.)

If you are worried about these pesticides, Wal*Mart has a private label brand called "PetArmor" that uses the same ingredients as Advantage/Frontline. (They aren't as cheap as Hartz, but if the shill reviews scare you go there.)

The only con in comparing with the expensive brands is the greasy fur it causes for a few days over the application area. Otherwise has worked really well.

I was using K9 Advantix on my puppy since she was 2 months old. I had never seen any fleas or ticks on her. Given the difference in price I bought Hartz Flea and Tick control. A week after I applied it I found ticks on her! Last night I was playing with her and saw this black dot on her paw and it was the disgusting little insect with his head already in place to get engorged. Please do not waste your money on this product! Advantix is much more expensive but it really DOES WORK.
