I am very disappointed with this product. I purchased this product (3 month supply) from my vet who explained how to use it. Perhaps I spilled some the first try so my dog didn't get all the benefits she should have. The day after the application I found no fleas but three days later I found fleas on the dog. So I followed all the typical flea control possible, vacuuming, shampooing the carpets, using drop cloth sheets where she rests during the day and night then washing them every day, using the flea comb every day, and I set up flea traps in every room. Finally, enough time passed that the vet said it was safe to try the second application. The same thing happened....fleas in three days. So I continued the flea control plan I have just described until it was safe again for a third application. Today is the third day after the last application and I have fleas again. This product that everyone is so excited about does not work for me. I have a small poodle. Perhaps it works... Read more

I just applied Vectra on two of my 3 shih tzu; one has no problems, but the other two are having "ticks" and baby seizures, and constant scratching. I called my vet, but they rave about the product and say they haven't heard of problems. I went on-line and people are having problems when applied to small dogs. I would beware about putting this product on small dogs. I definately will not be using it any more.

My wife has been using this on her 12 pound Maltese for quite some time and it has worked like a charm with no ill effects. She asked me to check the Amazon price before ordering it from Wally World (I'm an Amazon guy, she's a Wal-Mart gal). Well the price was about the same so it will come from Wal-Mart (again). What was interesting though was I took a glance at the reviews and was surprised to see a bunch of one (1) star reviews. Now I know I'll take some heat from some reviewers because the following has NOTHING to do with the product. If you look close at the folks that rated it one star you will notice if you go to there "See all my reviews", they have no other reviews. Only the one star for Pet Armor. And all are within a general time frame and none (0) have bought the product on Amazon....hmmm. This drop has exactly the same ingredients Fipronil and(S)-Methoprene as Frontline Plus.
Everything is the same as Frontline Plus, except the price.
PetArmor kills fleas, ticks (including Lyme Disease carriers).
With these troubled times, I am glad to be saving money wherever possible and this is a fine product and fine way to start saving.
With your veterinarian's approval, I recommend it highly.

I've been using Frontline on my dog for 2 years now, ordering from an Australian website to save money. This is the same price as my Frontline from Australia except I don't have to pay for shipping.

I purchased it from Walmart and IT DOES WORK. The first week I put it on my dog we visited my sister who lives in the suburbs. When I got back to the city I found a dead flea on my dog. I was impressed. But I just found another dead flea after another visit to my sisters and it's been almost a month since I applied it last. Proof to me that this stuff works. If your dog already has a flea problem then you need something else to kill eggs. This is a preventative flea product. I've used K9 Advantix and that works really well for eggs and ticks too, but my dog's allergic to it (it burns her skin, she gets a scab and it makes her sick).

Within 20 minutes of product application, my 13 lb Shih Tzu threw up twice. I didn't immediately connect the vomiting to the product until later that evening. My poor dog was up all night twitching and biting at his tail. He was restless all night and continued to vomit. I searched online for the Advantix side effects and lo and behold, uncontrollable twitching, tail-biting, and vomiting were all listed as side effects. This product contains permethrin, which is classified by the EPA as a carcinogen and a neurotoxin to MAMMALS. This is awful, awful stuff. Please do yourself and favor and research the MSDS for permethrin before putting this toxic sludge on your pet. If it is lethal to aquatic life, rodents, and cats, it certainly cannot be good for your dog (or the kids who come in contact with your pet). I'm taking my dog to the vet tomorrow morning because he is still twitching and biting his tail non-stop. Please don't take a chance on your pet. Frontline is a much safer... Read more

I have been using this Advamtix for years with my Lhasa Apso. When I first bought it I ask my son-in-law (a biochemist) to check it out to see if it was safe to use. He called in a few days to say he wished he had found this because it is only effective on a flea. No danger to dog or people. If you read the warnings on most flea stuff you will see all the warnings.

Other thing I really like is it is easy to put on the dog. Just take top off and apply it between the shoulder blades.
